Leshan Sales Center

This design adapts the warehouse in an old sugar factory into a sales center. Taking the idea that ‘Planting a tree that will grow into a forest on the mountain’ as inspiration, the designer adopted the contours of a mountain co-habiting with plants. As the trees grow into a forest, the ecological mimicry of this designed nature threads together the indoor and outdoor spaces. The void and the solid co-exist within the layers of herbs and bushes. The former structure is thus transfigured into an organic space of lush vitality. The wooden panels mimicking the tree boughs are bent to convey the softness of silk.
