Baotou Brother Fortune Villa Sales Center
Baotou, China
Beijing, China
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
The design for the sales centre was inspired by the Western European tradition of chivalry, which was seen to represent the essential nature of the true gentlemen. According to Chaucer, chivalry encompassed ‘truth, honour, freedom and all courtesy.’ In this project, the overall space is designed in classical European style, embodying the traditional elegance associated with the nobility, a value that has been passed down from generation to generation since the Middle Ages. The space uses a multitude of neutral, gentle colours to represent harmony, peace and comfort. To create a sense of vastness and a feeling of strength, the European-style decorative lines are abstracted and streamlined. The varying use of beige stone, ash blonde sandstone, shell, copper and leather work to create rich, heavy texture, reminiscent of a scroll or an oil painting depicting a fierce battle for honour.
