Timepiece Mural

Launched as Graham & Brown’s 2021 Mural of the Year, Timepiece is an incredibly impactful wall mural. Full of movement, colour and exuberance, this expressive mural was created by piecing together fragments of Graham & Brown’s 35,000-piece archive, taking inspiration from three artworks to create Timepiece. Timepiece is an amalgamation of prints dating from 1946 to the present day. The result is a bold, innovative wall mural that represents the essence of the Graham & Brown design philosophy. One of the archive patterns referenced in Timepiece is the first wallpaper produced at Graham & Brown Blackburn factory in 1946, Original. The Art Deco structure of the pattern forms the geometric framework of this mural, layers of floral design are woven into this architecture to produce a striking wallpaper that reflects upon the aesthetics of the past to inform the designs of the future.
