All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
This challenging and interesting project concerned a suburban house near Kiev, with a total area of 267 square metres. It was a synthesis of several styles and difficult to categorise: there was an eclectic mixture of classic, loft and modern elements. For the project, some of the older, authentic pieces and features were given a new life. Old industrial lamps were used in the living room, boldly combined with classic moulding. Other rooms were created in a more sober style with the use of minimalist modern furniture and an emphasis on retro items and materials, such as an old cast-iron bath. This bath, according to the architect’s design, would sit on classic copper legs, amid other aged materials such as solid wood, parquet and tiles with Spanish motifs.
