Launched in 2017, the Master of Design award is bestowed on a practitioner who has contributed greatly to the interior design industry.
David Chang, Chinese Canadian Designer, founder of David Chang Design Associates International Ltd, Design Director and registered professional member of the SBID, NCIDQ, ASID, and IIDA, has over 25 years of experience in hospitality and residential interior design and management in both North America and Asia Pacific.
David was born in Taipei, majored in Interior Design at both California State University Long Beach in the Los Angeles and Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver. He also studied “Green Building and Community Sustainability” professional certification program at Harvard University.
In 1998, David Chang founded David Chang Design Associates International (DCDA) in Vancouver, Canada. He proceeded to expand to the China market in 2006 and established firms in Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuxi and Taipei, to provide exclusive upscale design services on landmark projects for top developers.
Deeply influenced by Chinese and Western culture, David Chang emphasizes attention to art, culture and history as a source of inspiration to evoke a rich, artistic essence for each project.
