Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
The Waldorf Astoria at Dubai International Financial Centre is set across the 18th to 55th floors of the Burj Daman development with a large meeting space on the ground floor housing ballroom, meeting rooms, boardroom and Waldorf Astoria’s signature Living Room. The sky lobby sits at Level 18, with the ‘Peacock Alley’ and Cigar Bar beyond. The RMJM designed exterior’s celebrates the clean lines and crisp architectural elements that are synonymous with a New York 1960’s skyline evoking a subtle glamour of the period. The client’s brief to SRSS was to continue this styling creating an acknowledgment of the 1960’s Madisson Avenue as its inspiration and to incorporate this ambiance across the interiors of the hotel and branded residences. Given the challenging linear nature of the project’s footprint, SRSS created a series of flowing spaces that intermingle and blur the zoning between the public areas.
