Restaurant Design Finalist
London, United Kingdom
twenty2degrees designed soMos Neuilly on the outskirts of Paris. The first soMos (meaning ‘We Are’ in Portuguese), also designed by twenty2degrees, opened in Porto last year and was so well received, the client decided to develop the concept into a collection of European restaurants, each one differentiated by references to locality while clearly within the group aesthetic. The key design signatures – glazed metalwork screens, oversized pendant lights and industrial features juxtaposed with warm timber and brightly patterned floor tiles and wall plates – were combined with Calacatta marble and antiqued mirror, integrated into some of the screens and forming the backdrop to the display of decorative French plates. A specially designed wall covering is inspired by the work of Le Corbusier, while colour selections give a nod to classic Parisian palettes. soMos Neuilly is all about the simple pleasure of gathering together over an informal, high-quality meal.
