CIBC Live Lounge – MaRS Discovery District

The MaRS Discovery District, located in Toronto, Ontario, wanted to undertake a renovation to the lounge space that was left unfinished after the construction of the Phase Two building. They wanted to create a flexible, open concept space for tenants and the MaRS community to work and meet on a drop-in basis but have the flexibility of converting the space into an event venue.  Mayhew Inc. was not only able to achieve the key objectives, but also ensured the design represented the energy and innovation of the MaRS community. Through the concept of ‘networks and connections’, employed both in layout, architecture and finishes, the final design reflects the innovative tenants and activities within the building, while also providing a venue for those activities to occur.
