At the intersection between comfort and design, right there my Hōyō armchair was born. It’s name (“hug” in Japanese) is a tribute to the Japanese culture, which I love for its simplicity and versatility, just like my Hōyō. The armchair is a place of wellbeing that amplifies the original meaning of cushion, where to wait, have a conversation, rest, read, nap, or simply spend some time.

Spacious, soft and enveloping, these are the 3 adjectives that characterize my Hoyo armchair, designed with shapes that invite to relax.

Hōyō has a wide, deep seat and it is structured like an architecture with layered volumes shaping a close, intimate space, just like a hug.

Hōyō expresses the culture of Italian savoir faire, according to the shared principles of:

– comfort: it’s structure, comfortable in itself, is designed also to embrace multiple pillows which make it even cosier

– functionality: the perfect inclination of the seater is thought to sustain the back properly

– made in Italy design

I wanted to renew the idea of the classical upholstered armchair, creating a futuristic revisitation of shapes and surfaces to produce an iconic, timeless armchair, sure to please someone with a distinct, but refined personality.

The internal structure is a plywood frame covered in foam rubber (polyurethane) which can be upholstered in leather, eco-leather or fabric in any texture and color. The metal feet of the armchair are also customizable, depending on the style one wants to combine it with.

Its perfect setting?

Basically everywhere: the Hōyō armchair meets every need, thanks to its extreme practicality. It’s perfect for both residential and contract solutions, in a reading corner, a hotel lobby, a living area of a loft …
