Dolce Stil Novo Oven Collection

The award winning ‘Dolce Stil Novo’ collection – a namesake influenced by a 13th Century literary movement in Sicilian and Tuscan poetry, which when translated into English means ‘sweet new style’ – is a celebration of Smeg’s Italian heritage. The versatile collection, designed by renowned Italian architect Guido Canali, comprises a series of innovative built-in appliances – popular amongst high end kitchen and interior design projects – sought out by premium developers and specifiers as a real point of difference.

The Dolce Stil Novo ovens have multiple exciting features including a retractable door handle. This unique feature can be activated by pressing the Smeg logo on the LCD display screen and with this simple touch, the handle extends, bringing new life to the oven. Once the oven is in operation, the handle automatically opens and continues to stay this way until cooking has finished and the oven has sufficiently cooled down. The handle then automatically retracts with the door closed to sit beautifully flush to the oven once more, providing clean uninterrupted lines in the kitchen.

The oven’s latest evolution comes complete with Smeg’s innovative new VIVO screen, a market leading large touch control operating system that allows users to navigate the plethora of oven features and functions with ease thanks to lifestyle photography and clear colour coded menus accessed by swiping. In addition, the meat probe function allows a new level of culinary expertise, perfect for aspiring chefs preparing meat, fish or other baked produce, to desired temperature.

When turned off, the innovative eclipse glass appears opaque, yet comes to life when turned on, perfectly illuminating the cavity, and hiding it away when not in use. Finally, a choice of luxurious copper or stainless-steel trim provide a subtle burst of colour throughout the range to co-ordinate with the scheme.
