Bond is a contemporary series of bathroom fittings designed by Waterworks in collaboration with Gachot Studios. Inspired by the Aesthetic movement of the 19th century, vintage lighters and modern industrial design, this versatile and distinctive collection is perfect for contemporary use. Design elements include the application of the centuries-old engraving technique guilloche. This distinguishing craftsmanship is only practiced by a handful of highly skilled artisans today and was undertaken by a specialist studio in Italy for Waterworks.
Curated design details define the Bond family into three distinguishing series – Solo, Tandem and Union. Each is denoted by stylistic differences tied to a common base silhouette. From the sloping upturn of the lever on Solo to the levels of texture and technique on Tandem and Union, each series is differentiated by its own unique design elements.
The Solo series is form and function in its purest sense. Streamlined and minimalist, with clean, crisp edges. The Tandem series introduces two additional design elements: a mixed metal finish (Dark Nickel combined with Brass or Nickel) and guilloche lines–each lever has 80 hand-engraved lines, each knob 240 hand-engraved lines. Union is the most lavish of the series, bringing three additional design elements to choose from: an intricate guilloche links pattern; guilloche lines covered by a white or black enamel; or the pinstripe, the guilloche technique is engraved on top of a black enamel handle to reveal the beautiful metal finish beneath the pattern.
