Bentley Motors celebrates its centenary with its limited edition collection of Bentley Home furniture launched at the Salone del Mobile fair in Milan. The chair, created by Bentley Design, is produced by Bentley Home with just 100 pieces made.

The aesthetic form of the chair is based on automotive proportions and sits low supported by four outstretched corners. The surface execution feels light weight and modern but the actual mass remains substantial to ensure it remains visually planted.

The chair is formed from a series of elegant lines that flow around the squab and harmonise with the cushion at the front. The point at which they meet creates a wing feature, a nod to design features seen in Bentley’s cars. This intersection is intensified by the fading diamond laser cut into gold plated iron using the same philosophy from design features of the brand.

The item is hand-crafted using advanced techniques and contemporary materials. The metal frames is crafted from gold-plated iron, whilst the wooden frame is a machined dark stained oak with a liquid gold finish that is applied and then hand sanded so the natural beauty of the materials imperfections are highlighted. The seat of the chair is formed from a patent leather with an embossed diamond made in the Trapunto style negating needs for conventional stitching.

The piece is finished with an etched 100 years logo which is exclusive to the 100 made to celebrate the brands centenary.

The design echo’s Bentley’s vision for the future and its use of modern materials ensure this outstanding selection of contemporary home furniture complements global lifestyles and interior tastes.
