Studio Materi was commissioned to design the interior architecture and furnishings for a private residence in Berlin, formed through the amalgamation of two adjoining apartments into a single 293 square metre home. The design reimagines the developer's original layout, transforming a dark, internalised Berliner Zimmer into a light-filled architectural centrepiece through the introduction of a bespoke glazed Crittall screen. A calm, tactile material palette of limewash plaster, natural stone and bespoke timber flooring provides a considered backdrop for the client's collection of art, antiques and modernist furniture, resulting in a sophisticated and deeply personal family home.
