Paragon Interface was commissioned to reimagine the Cape Town head office of Ninety One, the investment manager founded 35 years ago. Rather than relocate, the practice refurbished the firm's existing 12,130 sqm building on the Foreshore, reusing the entire concrete structure to create one of the city's greenest workplaces. A sculptural staircase was inserted through the central atrium, connecting five workspace floors beneath a south-facing skylight. Height-adjustable workstations share daylight and harbour views across open, hierarchy-free floors, while a refined top floor welcomes clients. The result is an elegant, biophilic and sustainable workplace expressing Ninety One's understated South African identity.
