An extension to this Wimbledon townhouse led to a new open plan living/dining/kitchen. The owners wanted a warm and textured feel so the kitchen was designed with a mix of timber and painted finishes to provide colour and contrast.

The design focuses on a central island and an symmetrical run of fitted cabinetry with a Britannia Stainless steel range cooker as the focal point. The island is in Oiled Walnut with a luxurious Bianco Carrara Marble top. An informal dining space to one side provides useful and relaxed seating. The range cooker is set within a symmetrical elevation with wall hung cabinets to each side of the industrially inspired canopy. Cabinetry is hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Railings and Purbeck Stone. The pendant lights are made from up-cycled diving gas canisters giving a hard and contrasting industrial edge which complement the dining table and chairs nearby.
