14. Residential House Over £1M
Birch House
Layered London Living
London, United Kingdom
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
This charming mews house has been completely reimagined as a refined yet characterful pied-à-terre for a young family. What began as a tired property, that was once arranged as a warren of disconnected rooms, was taken back to brick and reconfigured from the ground up. At the heart of the home, the staircase became the defining architectural element. Conceived not simply as a means of circulation but as a sculptural centrepiece. The result is a house that balances bold expression with thoughtful restraint and, most importantly, it reflects the spirit of its owners: international, design-literate and unafraid of colour.
