Colinas and Marola are modular ceramic tile collections by REPUBLIC OF II BY IV for VIÚVA LAMEGO that reinterpret Portuguese tilemaking through sculptural surface relief. Conceived as complementary systems rather than singular tile designs, the collections allow designers to create layered, rhythmic compositions across architectural surfaces. Colinas references pleated fabric through softly undulating forms, while Marola draws on the delicate lines left in sand by receding waves. Crafted at VIÚVA LAMEGO’s historic factory in Sintra, Portugal, the collections bring a contemporary design language to a longstanding ceramic tradition, combining flexibility, material depth, and enduring visual appeal.
