In Old Montreal, a four-story townhouse was reimagined to balance heritage and contemporary design. Commissioned prior to purchase, Desjardins Bherer identified its potential by removing a central fireplace that obstructed natural light, introducing a dramatic vertical opening connecting all levels. A sculptural bronze staircase serves as the focal point, while a palette of layered brown tones creates visual continuity. Preserved wooden beams and original masonry are thoughtfully integrated with refined modern interventions. The result is a fluid, light-filled residence where craftsmanship, rich materials, and a warm, cohesive atmosphere define the overall spatial experience.
