Horsehair Fabric Collaboration

Oakley Moore collaborated with John Boyd Textiles to create the mill’s first new horsehair fabric designs in over twenty years. Handwoven in Castle Cary using original looms dating to 1870, the collection reimagines traditional horsehair through contemporary striped designs developed by Kate Aslangul. Extensive sampling refined stripe proportion, colour balance and weave structure to create fabrics that feel fresh, versatile and enduring. The collection was brought to life through two signature pieces, the Burton Lampshade and Flynn Drum Stool, both handmade in Britain. Crisp and versatile this collection demonstrates how a historic British textile can be evolved for contemporary interiors.
