Ellasfield is a rural retreat in Billingshurst, West Sussex, designed as a calm sanctuary for rest, reflection and connection to nature. Transforming the owner’s former family home, the project reimagined every bedroom as a guest space with the kitchen remaining a communal space - preserving the warmth and intimacy of a lived-in house. The design prioritised restoration over replacement, retaining existing elements and introducing vintage furniture, reclaimed pallet wood and natural materials throughout. The retreat’s brand colours of sage and plum are woven subtly throughout. The result is a quietly nurturing environment that encourages guests to slow down and reconnect.
